At Sentra, we exist to solve a quiet crisis—one affecting those who've spent their lives serving others.
Those who serve others face trauma that doesn't end with their shift. Support systems are stretched thin, slow to reach, or unavailable when needed most.
First responders and frontline workers face growing mental health challenges that are often underreported and underserved.
Our team has lived this trauma. We've experienced the burnout, the long waitlists, the silent nights. We also know AI can be used for more than convenience—it can be used for care.
Sentra is a 24/7 AI-powered mental health companion built specifically for those who face trauma serving others. Our secure platform delivers evidence-based techniques like CBT, EMDR-inspired grounding, and breathing exercises.
We're building Sentra with frontline workers, veterans, clinical professionals, and support organizations. We complement existing services and work with charities and NHS services to reach those who need help most.
Our mission: make world-class trauma support radically accessible. Confidential. Always-on. Built with empathy and authentic experience.
Tom left school at 16 to join the British Army, serving operational tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. After leaving the forces in 2010, he went on to hold leadership roles at Apple, Spotify, and Snapchat. In 2014, he began to experience PTSD—an experience that made him acutely aware of the gaps in mental health support, particularly when it comes to accessibility, personalisation, and round-the-clock availability.
In 2022, Tom co-founded Koios, a conversational AI company focused on emotional intelligence, before launching Sentra to bring those learnings to the frontline mental health crisis. His goal is to make meaningful support available to every veteran and first responder—anytime, anywhere.
Martin builds AI that deeply understands human emotions—tools designed not just to interact, but to sense when someone's hurting and help them heal.
His journey started in academia, where he spent his PhD uncovering how machine learning could decode human psychology. But long nights of relentless research pushed him to burnout and anxiety. Recovery came through movement: trail-running, breathwork, and mindfulness became more than habits—they became essential rituals.
Today, as a father of two, Martin sees parenthood as a living laboratory. Watching how his daughters explore, learn, and emotionally regulate directly inspires Sentra's design. After co-founding Koios—where he taught AI to genuinely listen—Martin launched Sentra to build something even more ambitious: technology that proactively strengthens mental resilience, starting with the people he loves most.
Every model Martin ships, every decision he makes, aligns with one clear mission: to create humane, intelligent support systems powerful enough to transform mental health care.
Oliver joined the Royal Marines in 2005 after studying economics at Durham University, deploying on operations including Afghanistan and the North Arabian Gulf. During his final tour in Helmand, he was struck by the compassion and skill of the attached military doctor—an experience that changed his life. In 2011, he left the Corps with a single purpose: to become a doctor.
He graduated from the University of London in 2016 and has spent the years since working in Emergency Departments across the UK. But despite his proximity to healthcare, Oliver was first diagnosed with PTSD while balancing the demands of trauma medicine, new fatherhood, and his own service-related experiences.
After four years on the frontline of Major Trauma Centres, he's seen how limited, delayed, and fragmented PTSD support can be—even for those inside the system. At Sentra, Oliver brings together his lived experience, clinical training, and unwavering empathy to help deliver timely, accessible support to those suffering in silence.
His mission is simple: to ensure that anyone experiencing trauma—no matter where they are—has a clear, private, and immediate path to support.
